Head of Department: Stepan Ivanovych Poperechnyi, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor
The objective of training students in the specialty Marketing has always been to develop specialists with such defining qualities as flexible thinking; a broad range of general education and in-depth specialized knowledge; a creative and systematic research-based approach to solving marketing and organizational problems; the ability to take calculated risks; an inclination toward innovation; and the capacity to act effectively under conditions of incomplete information and limited financial or material resources.
Currently, the research activities of the department’s faculty are focused on substantiating the main directions of marketing activities of enterprises engaged in the production and processing of agricultural products, as well as on the formation of pricing systems and market infrastructure. Students specializing in Marketing consistently achieve prize-winning results in national competitions of student research papers, which are officially recognized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
The department maintains partnerships with foreign higher education institutions, where faculty members undergo internships and participate in scientific conferences. An agreement has been signed with the University of Computer Science and Applied Knowledge (Łódź, Poland) on joint Ukrainian-Polish student training.
The development prospects of the department are determined by the need for further training of marketing specialists. In the context of intensified international integration processes, increasing attention is paid to improving the competitiveness of products, forming large homogeneous product batches, and promoting them to distant, including foreign, markets. Already today, networks of local food supermarkets prefer sourcing such batches of carrots from India and garlic from Turkey.
