The Department’s faculty supervise a student scientific society, where students conduct independent research that forms the basis for their diploma and master’s theses. This work frequently utilizes the Department’s branch facilities. Some faculty members regularly participate in international conferences and symposia.

The Department’s instructors consistently present at national, regional, and local seminars, maintaining strong connections with modern agricultural production, including collective and private farms.

In recent years, the Department staff have published a significant amount of educational and methodological literature. Annual updates to the curriculum incorporate contemporary production challenges and new literature, while research activities focus on improving the educational process. Lectures include problem-based scenarios, which are later reflected in examination questions.

The Department has four practical classrooms, three teaching laboratories for feed zooanalysis, two laboratory rooms for faculty research, and seven offices for instructors and laboratory staff.

The Department also hosts a feed museum and educational displays on modern technologies, including beef production, establishment and use of cultivated pastures, state feed standards, and information on feed, poisonous, and harmful plants. Lectures and laboratory sessions are conducted using multimedia technology to enhance learning.
